“T” Pin

Overview

“Without fear or favor” has been the guiding principle of The New York Times since 1896 when Adolph S. Ochs acquired the company and published his “Business Announcement” in its pages. Accessorize your lapel, backpack, hat or tote with this black and gray Gothic “T” pin ‒ instantly identifiable as part of the Times logo ‒ and show your support for independent journalism.

The Times logo has changed since it appeared on the first day of publication in 1851, with the hand-lettered typeface getting occasional updates. But the Gothic “T” has remained an emblem of the brand. This hard enamel pin measures 0.75" wide and is made of black nickel plating with a metal clutch backing. It comes placed on a 3" x 2.25" backer card featuring the quote by Mr. Ochs.

This pin is part of The Times’s A1 collection of simple and timelessly designed products to fit your everyday lifestyle. It is made in collaboration with Three Potato Four, a husband and wife-led product and graphic design studio located outside of Philadelphia.
