NYT Cooking helps home cooks discover the world’s best recipes while also helping them become better, more competent cooks. The Times Store expands the love of cooking and food with well-designed products like this tablet stand.

It’s produced by Ciseal, which specializes in hand-layering and curving real wood into unique products for the home. Founded in 2013 by owner Nicole Hodsdon in Troy, Mich., Ciseal combines minimalism and modernism in its designs. Each creation has lasting quality and is sustainably sourced from responsibly harvested birch tree forests in Michigan's upper peninsula.

Ciseal’s bent-plywood construction was inspired by the mid-century modern Eames LCW molded plywood chair. Using layers of wood veneer creates a stronger material than solid wood. Each tablet stand is impeccably made of eight layers of real wood that are glued, layered, trimmed, sanded and finished by hand. The result: A durable stand with a matte, all-natural oil finish that’s resistant to water, splatter and stains.

The stand, laser engraved with a Times “T” logo, securely holds tablets of all sizes at just the right angle for cooking from a recipe. It has cork feet to keep it from sliding and protect from scratches.

Each stand is handmade from natural materials, so there will be some variation in color and wood grain.
